While setting up our developing (new) site I thought about sub-domain in
url.
currently subdomain is forced by static pages, but now I have the option
of adding "sub domain" or not in url.
Let's say.. I am addind a particular treadmill called.. a "t9i treadmill
made by LifeFitness"
what's the groups thoughts on the following..
http://www.domain.co.uk/cat/fitness-...-t9i-treadmill
http://www.domain.co.uk/cat/fitness-...ifefitness/t9i
http://www.domain.co.uk/cat/fitness-.../t9i-treadmill
www.domain.co.uk/cat/lifefitness-t9i-treadmill
From a user-logical point of view I am thinking #2 as this would give a
more logical site-map creation working backwards to prime top level
key-words.
Curiously a lots several top positions for product-specific terms are
held by websites with absolutely no usefull URL info.
I know the URL has only the slightest benefit from an SEO point of view,
but from a users point of view there must surely be a preference?
Cheers
Pete
